While many were impressed by the first look of Sony’s flagship Xperia devices – Xperia Z and Xperia ZL, it seems that Sony hasn’t forgot about the mid-end market. The leaked Sony C5303 – codenamed HuaShan seems to be an Xperia Z variant for the mid-range market.
Unlike the Xperia Z variants, the HuaShan doesn’t boast top of the line specs. However, the device does keep up with the same design aesthetics found on the Xperia Z and ZL variants, making it just as pleasing to the eye. Specifications however, is pretty heaven and earth between these two devices as unlike the Qualcomm S4 Pro found the Z and ZL variants, the HuaShan packs a 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8960T – which suggests that its headed to China.
While it is still unknown, other countries could also see a forthcoming variant of the device. In terms of specs, the HuaShan will pack a fairly decent HD display, a rear shooter in the range of 5 to 8-megapixels. Of course, these are just rumours and speculation with nothing solid to go on.
Like its bigger, more powerful siblings, the HuaShan will run Android Jelly Bean 4.1 out of the box. With all of the issues found on Android Jelly Bean 4.2, we can’t be terribly upset that the device isn’t running the latest version of the OS.
The HuaShan – alongside its specs, availability and real name are expected to be announced at Mobile World Congress next month.
