Sony Xperia Z1 Smart Camera

Xperia Z1 in water

Sony Xperia Z1

Why it’s called Sony Xperia Z1 Smart Camera? Nowadays a lot of smartphones have a big Megapixel but no quality, Sony has his own ways. Sony has put first priorities to the new phone Xperia Z1, the phone is large with display screen 5-inch, 20.7-megapixel camera with ½.3” Exmor RS sensor and Sony high-end G Lens.  But not only that, they also launched a lenses that can connect through the phone with one touch. QX10 and QX100, with this lens people will have a new angle to take pictures depends on the users creativity and better photos.

Sony is not the only one who’s pushing phone-camera to the limit. Nokia 1020 Windows Phone has 41-megapixel sensor and lens. Samsung also has a phone-camera called Galaxy S4 Zoom, it’s a phone-camera hybrid. The main thing now, people want good quality photos. Maybe you want a big phablet screen, maybe you want a Stylus Pen for sketching, but still people wants the camera. With Xperia Z1 waterproof exterior maybe you at a school trip or camping and you need to take picture under water, I’m not telling you this is a great phone in the water. There’s a lot phones are waterproof and comes with good quality of picture. But with these lenses, you can get a better picture quality and a new angle with phone-camera, you don’t need to pull out the big camera like “DSLR” because you have the phone and the lens.

What can you expect more? The lenses support not only Android it also support Ios so don’t worry guys. Let’s wait and see till next year how it’ll be use.

This is not a victory for Sony. But at least it’s one step ahead among the others.

4K Movie downloads for PS4?

Sony announced their new gaming console the “PlayStation 4” not too long ago. It was made apparent that the new gaming console will not be able to stream previous PlayStation 3 game, leaving many video game fans underwhelmed. So what more does Sony has install for the new PlayStation 4?

The PS4 is to collaborate with the “world’s first” 4K movie download service. “I promise you will not be disappointed” said Sony Electronics President and COO Phil Molyneux. This report has certainly clarified previous rumours concerning the PS4 that would be able to support 4K photos and videos, but not games.

The Verge interviewed Molyneux at a Sony event in New York City. Molyneux indicated that typical movie titles would be over 100GB in size, so taking advantage of 4K content will require decent broadband connection and a high data limit.

With file size that large, the quality promises to exceed anything available on Blu-ray today, but for many users a download of that size could take hours. Molyneux was non-committal about the future of Blu-ray mentioning that the whole world is moving toward downloads.  Sounds like a lot of overnight downloading to me.

Quoted from The Verge- “Molyneux was bullshit about the future of online delivery for 4K- he said that he’s personally heading up the download service project, and added that while he was “not discounting” physical 4K distribution on Blu-ray or other media, “the whole world is moving more and more to download.”

PlaySation Ipad?

Sony unveiled the new and possibly last of its kind PlayStation, the PlayStation 4 during its two-plus-hour long presentation PlayStation Meeting 2013 conference on Wednesday and is due to release just in time before Christmas.

Here are the PS4 specs revealed so far:

  • x86-64 AMD “Jaguar” 8-core CPU
  • “Enhanced” AMD next-gen Radeon GPU
  • CPU/GPU on the same die
  • 8 GB unified GDDR5 RAM
  • On-board hard drive (no size announced)
  • Blu-ray optical drive
  • USB 3.0
  • Bluetooth 2.1
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • 802.11b/g/n wifi
  • HDMI, analog video, digital optical audio

During the conference, Sony mentioned that iPhones and iPads will be able to be used as second screens console with a new “PlayStaion App.”  Looks like Nintendo isn’t the only gaming outfit playing around with a second screen anymore.

Sony is targeting ios and Android users, propagating in game maps, social networking tools or simply and easier way to access the PlayStation store, users can also watch gameplay from remote screens. These features will also be made available on the PlayStation Vita.

Gamers are questioning the application’s functionality which sounds awful lot like the Wii U GamePad, though Sony hasn’t mentioned if off-screen play via tablet will be a possibility.

The pricing remains unknown, though it is speculated that it will be a free app. There is currently and official PlayStation app in the UK App Store, and based on user reviews, it is “Rubbish.” Hopefully, Sony will prove them wrong in the future.

Video gamers are underwhelmed by new PS4

Sony finally unveils their new game console the “PlayStation 4” that will allow users to stream and play video games hosted on servers. It was announced at an invitation-only event in New York on Wednesday.

It is apparent that the new PlayStation 4 will not be able to stream previous PlayStation 3 games. This flaw renders many video game fans on Twitter and live blogs at Wired and the Verge underwhelmed by the released of the new gaming console.

The PlayStation 4 comes with a new pimped-out hardware that the company claims will virtually eliminate the time video game players must wait for their games to load. The company also added a new “share” button on its controller that will let players capture video clips of their game to play to send to friends.

The 8GB PlayStation 4 can also instantly stream game content from the console to Sony’s handheld PlayStation Vita through a feature called “Remote Play,” said the company.

Rumours about the new controller appears to be true when Mark Cerny lead system architect on PlayStation 4 said that the controller dubbed “DualShock 4” will have a touch pad.

Sony did not announce a price or even display the console itself during the 2 hour long event, but did announce in closing that the device will be available around “holiday 2013,” probably just around the corner before Christmas.

Root access now available on the Sony Xperia Z.

Root access – much like jailbreaks for iOS, except much better. For those who don’t know, root access – commonly known as rooting a device, has been a process many do to their Android device to install custom ROMs and customizing their Android device.

Astonishingly, root access of the much-talked-about Sony Xperia Z has been successfully achieved. What really is amazing is that this was achieved even before the smartphone’s global launch date. The Sony Xperia Z arrived the French shelves yesterday and is expecting to be available in the rest of Europe in two days. Despite this, a recognized developed over at XDA, DooMLoRD has managed to gain root access on the smartphone.

According to the developer, the modification of the CF-Auto-Root for the Nexus 4 smartphone from Google and LG has worked on the Sony Xperia Z, helping him achieve the root access. Unlike iOS jailbreaks who takes lots of beta testing, root access is now available to those who own an Xperia Z as a tutorial for said procedure on the Xperia Z is now available over at XDA forums.

However, it is crucial to note that the process of rooting your Xperia Z involves some rather high risk and would void your warranty for obvious reasons. Proceed with the instructions only if you are sure about what you are doing.
